Mitchell's 15-year-old friend Angela passed away in a fatal accident in a car. Mitchell was devastated and composed a song Angel for Angela on her debut album. The song was featured on the 7th Heaven Episode Nothing Endures But Change and in Chicken Soup for Preteen Soul she also talked about the experience.
